Following six months of phasing out the additive, titanium dioxide will be completely banned in the European Union starting August 7. France had previously banned the use of titanium dioxide in food starting in January 2020.

The FDA is reviewing the safety of titanium dioxide in response to an April petition from EWG and other environmental and public health groups. This is the FDA’s first comprehensive review of titanium dioxide since 1973.

Materials for Bed Linens: Bed linens share many of the same materials as bed sheets but also include additional options. A fitted sheet is different in that the corners are elasticated so that it is not necessary to tuck the sheet under the mattress as the elastic will serve to keep it in place. It is not possible to use a fitted sheet as a top cover because of the elasticated corners.
With a lower quality than both Pima and Egyptian, this short-staple cotton is the most common variety you’ll find. Labels that read “100% cotton” are typically Upland, and while still fairly durable, aren’t nearly as soft as other types.
