Le produit obtenu par cette méthode est constitué de 29,4 % en masse de ZnS et 70,6 % en masse de BaSO₄. Il existe des variations, par exemple l'adjonction de chlorure de zinc à la pâte avant chauffage produit un pigment plus riche en ZnS³.

3.   The calcined product obtained by the ordinary zinc bismuth method is slurried into a slurry, which is sequentially treated with sodium silicate, aluminum sulfate or sodium aluminate and a surfactant, and then filtered, washed, dried and pulverized.

In 2017, French researchers from the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRAE) were among the first to examine the effects of E171 nanoparticles on the body. They fed rats a dose of 10mg of E171 per kilogram of body weight per day, which was similar to human exposure in food. The research, which was published in Scientific Reports, showed that E171 was able to traverse the intestinal barrier, pass into the bloodstream, and reach other areas of the body in rats. Researchers also found a link between immune system disorders and the absorption of titanium dioxide nanoparticles. 

The analysis of the supernatant by UV–Vis spectrometry showed that each gram of P25TiO₂NP is loaded with 0.17 g of vitamin B2, after washing them. This value is coherent with the thermogram (Fig. 1), which showed a loss of 19% of weight, attributed to the thermal decomposition of vitamin B2.
