The raw material used in this method is FeSO4. In order to maintain the Fe3 + concentration in the reaction medium in a specific range, reducing agent iron sheet is added in the reaction process. Iron yellow crystal seed was added and air was introduced to synthesize iron yellow under certain pH conditions. The method mainly includes two steps: (1) firstly, FeSO4 · 7H2O is used as raw material, NaOH or NH3 · H2O is used as precipitant or pH regulator, and air is used as oxidant to prepare crystal seed; (2) Iron yellow is produced by two-step oxidation with crystal seed, FeSO4, iron sheet and air.

In India, purchasers took a wait-and-see strategy because of the concerns about an unpredictable demand pattern following the second wave of the pandemic around the end of September. Whereas in China, producers were heard operating at optimal rates even though export orders were low in July.

That came after a 2021 report from an expert panel at the European Food Safety Authority, which reviewed data on titanium dioxide safety. The panel said it couldn’t rule out concerns that the food additive might be able to damage DNA and possibly lead to cancer. They explained that after you eat something that has titanium dioxide in it, your body absorbs low levels of its particles – but the particles can build up as you eat more foods with this additive.
